Heretic Parfum is a niche fragrance brand founded by Douglas Little. Little is a renowned perfumer and creative mind specialising in the production of natural and artisanal fragrances. Heretic Parfum was created to push the boundaries of traditional perfumery and take a more holistic approach to fragrance creation. The brand combines natural, plant-based ingredients with innovative fragrance concepts that are often unusual and provocative.

The name ‘HERETIC’ reflects the brand's philosophy of rebelling against the mainstream and traditional views in perfumery. With Heretic, Little wanted to create fragrances that do not follow convention, but are unique, authentic and often unexpected. The ingredients of the fragrances are mainly botanical, and the brand places great emphasis on avoiding synthetic chemicals. Many of Heretic's fragrances are 100% natural and are made with the aim of perfuming the body in a non-toxic way.

Douglas Little is a creative visionary and perfumer who specialises in developing exceptional and innovative fragrances. However, his career did not begin in the world of perfumery. He originally worked in the design and art industry, where he made a name for himself as a successful creative director and designer. His particular interest was always in beauty and expression through fragrances and sensory experiences, which eventually led him to perfumery.

Little is known for experimenting with unusual and unique concepts. Prior to his work with HERETIC Parfum, he founded a brand called ‘D.L. & Co.’, which was known for its luxurious scented candles and perfumed products. There he acquired extensive knowledge about the use of fragrances and further developed his passion for the craft of perfumery. These experiences formed the basis for his later creations with Heretic Parfum.

Douglas Little's philosophy as a perfumer is strongly inspired by nature. He believes in the use of natural, plant-based ingredients and endeavours to create a connection to the earth and the origins of materials in his fragrances. His creations are often profound, sensual and have a strong personal touch, designed to reflect the individuality of each person.

In founding HERETIC Parfum, Little wanted to create a fragrance line that was radically different from commercial perfumery. He wanted to create fragrances that would appeal to people in an emotional and spiritual way, while avoiding synthetic ingredients. Heretic Parfum uses mainly natural oils and essences that are sustainably sourced and work differently on the skin than synthetic fragrances.

In addition to his work with HERETIC Parfum, Douglas Little has also collaborated with other brands and personalities, including Gwyneth Paltrow and her brand Goop. These partnerships helped him to bring his vision of a more natural, holistic perfumery to a wider audience, while pushing the boundaries of what is considered ‘traditional fragrance’.

Little's approach to perfumery is both scientific and artistic. He is deeply involved in the alchemy and chemistry of fragrance, but combines this with a deep artistic understanding of aesthetics and emotion. His work with Heretic Parfum is a tribute to the time-honoured art of natural perfumery, which he revives through modern techniques and bold creative concepts.
