Behind the Fragrance
Imaginary Authors - IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING - Eau de Parfum
IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING by Imaginary Authors is an exceptionally versatile fragrance, perfect for any time of day or year. Especially when you need a little energy boost or are looking for a touch of bliss to keep your body moving and your lungs smiling long into the night, this fragrance comes into its own. IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING is a fragrance free of any gender classification. Fragrance notes include raspberry, citrus pulp, coconut palm sugar, Madame Isaac Pereire (a type of rose), sandalwood, tropical punch and stardust. This combination creates an explosive aromatic experience that is both refreshing and beguiling.
Raspberry and citrus notes introduce with a tangy freshness that instantly invigorates, while coconut palm sugar and the exquisite Madame Isaac Pereire rose lend a sweet, seductive depth. Sandalwood provides a creamy, woody base that grounds the fragrance, and the Tropical Punch Cocktail accord brings an explosive, joyful burst. Stardust adds a mystical, almost magical dimension to the whole. The albedo, the white layer between the peel and the flesh of citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges, usually has a milder, less intense scent compared to the outer peel and juicy flesh.
While the peel is rich in essential oils and exudes a strongly aromatic, citrusy scent, the aroma of the albedo is more restrained. The albedo smells fresh and slightly tart, but without the sweet or strongly acidic note familiar from the pulp. It can also have a slightly bitter undertone in the smell, which partly explains why it is less preferred in culinary use. Nevertheless, it contributes to the overall aroma of the citrus fruit, adding a subtle depth and complexity that can play a role in both the flavor and fragrance experience of the fruit.
The 'Madame Isaac Pereire' rose is a historic Bourbon rose known for its exceptionally strong and sweet fragrances. It was bred in the 19th century and is named after Madame Isaac Pereire, an important figure in the French financial world of the time. This rose is characterized by its large, lush flower shape and deep magenta to pink colouring. The flowers of 'Madame Isaac Pereire' are particularly large and are a rich, velvety pink, one of the darkest shades to be found in Bourbon roses. Its petals are often densely filled and can give an almost spherical impression when in full bloom.
One of the most outstanding characteristics of this rose is its intense fragrance, which is often described as one of the strongest among old rose varieties. The aroma is deep and fruity, with hints of raspberry and old roses, making it a popular choice for gardens and as a cut flower. Its striking beauty and beguiling fragrance make 'Madame Isaac Pereire' a valued addition to any garden based on fragrance and historical significance. It is often planted in scented gardens or as part of a historic rose collection, where its stunning blooms and incomparable aroma can be fully appreciated.
The inspiration for IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING by Imaginary Authors comes from an electrifying 1982 novel that revolves around sex, drugs and decadence in pre-Miami Vice Florida, following a group of teenage girls on their way through South Beach nightclubs, roller discos and seedy bars, always in search of the next thrill. Driven by relentless enthusiasm, the girls navigate a series of potentially dangerous situations with naïve ease, spreading their infectious energy like a disco ball and turning even the darkest moments into a dance party. The book is celebrated for its unvarnished portrayal of strong, outspoken and resourceful young women whose sole motivation is to have fun, and stands in stark contrast to the male chauvinism of the era. It is still praised today for its “essential exploration of the pleasures of recklessness” and as “an addictive story in which every sentence glistens with the sticky sweetness of summer heat”.
