Behind the Fragrance
Imaginary Authors - THE SOFT LAWN - Eau de Parfum
THE SOFT LAWN by Imaginary Authors is the perfect fragrance for leisure, ideal for weekends or for those moments when you wish it was the weekend. THE SOFT LAWN contains the following fragrance notes: Lime blossom, grapefruit, laurel and ivy leaves, vetiver, oakmoss and the fresh smell of new tennis balls. This blend creates a unique olfactory experience that captures freedom and carefree days on the tennis court or in nature.
Lime blossom and grapefruit open the fragrance with a sparkling and refreshing note, while laurel and ivy leaves add a green, vibrant component. Vetiver and oakmoss add depth and an earthy base that anchors the composition. The unusual accord of fresh tennis balls adds a playful, nostalgic dimension that evokes memories of sporting activities and summer fun.
The inspiration for THE SOFT LAWN comes from Claude LeCoq's first book, published in 1916 while he was a student at Princeton University. It is a controversial portrait of upper-class adolescent rebellion in New England. The coming-of-age story follows Hampton Perry, a charmingly cocky college tennis champion who gives it all back after years of effortless success.
A little-known fact about the author: Claude LeCoq wore only seersucker suits, which were considered the clothing of the poorer classes in that era. His gallant presence at social dinners and prestigious sporting events helped the fabric gain popularity among the wealthy in the 1920s. THE SOFT LAWN by Imaginary Authors is therefore more than just a perfume; it is a tribute to the light-heartedness, sporting spirit and individual style that challenged the social conventions of its time.
