Behind the Fragrance
Jorum Studio BOSWELLIA SCOTIA Extrait de Parfum
The fragrance: BOSWELLIA SCOTIA from the limited edition collection by Jorum. In an edition of only 597 flacons. BOSWELLIA SCOTIA is an impressive fragrance from the Time Collection that combines the mystical and calming presence of frankincense (Boswellia) with the wild, natural beauty of Scotland. This composition is a tribute to nature and the ability of fragrances to build bridges between cultures, landscapes and times.
BOSWELLIA SCOTIA is a fragrance that radiates calm, grounding and spiritual depth. The composition combines the earthy, resinous qualities of frankincense with the cool, green and woody notes reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands.
Top notes: Fresh pine needles, spicy herbs, ozonic notes.
The fragrance opens with an invigorating freshness reminiscent of the scent of damp moss and resinous woods. A light ozonic breeze gives the composition an airy lightness.
Heart notes: Frankincense (Boswellia), warming spices, floral nuances.
The characteristic incense unfolds in the heart, whose resinous depth is complemented by spicy and floral accents. This blend conveys a meditative and calming atmosphere.
Base notes: Amber, soft wood, moss.
The base notes give the fragrance depth and consistency. Warm woody notes and mossy accents form a harmonious foundation that completes the connection between the spiritual world of incense and the natural world of Scotland.
BOSWELLIA SCOTIA is a fragrance that builds a bridge between past and present. It is simultaneously calming and invigorating, meditative and dynamic. The harmonious balance of incense and Scottish natural motifs makes it an unmistakable creation that expresses a deep connection with nature.
When the leaves turn golden in Scotland and the fresh air is infused with richness, the Jojari incense used is the personal version of Euan McCall, the perfumer. It does not smell like a cult place but is a pure variant of frankincense in a particularly good quality. The BOSWELLIA SCOTIA fragrance is aimed at people who are looking for a profound, spiritual yet natural scent. It is ideal for anyone who appreciates both the meditative and refreshing qualities of perfume and wants to be inspired by a composition that combines the best of both worlds - tradition and modernity.
The Scottish botanist William Roxburgh gave the genus name Boswellia to the frankincense plant in honor of his friend Dr. John Boswell. Roxburgh, known as the “founding father of Indian botany”, was the director of the Calcutta Botanical Gardens and is responsible for the discovery, documentation and naming of countless plants. This unlikely connection between Scotland and the frankincense plant (and botany in general) has captivated Euan McCall since childhood.
