Colourful tile art: the walls and facades are decorated with elaborately designed ceramic tiles depicting traditional Persian patterns and scenes from Iran's history. The famous Shams-ol-Emareh (Sun Tower) is one of the palace's most magnificent buildings and features many of these details. The GOLESTAN Palace is surrounded by lush gardens, which bear the name ‘Golestan ’ (rose garden).
