This fragrance by XERJOFF begins with the intense and beguiling notes of Bulgarian rose, cumin and cardamom and gently leads to the centrepiece, which consists of the most precious and noble ingredient in the world: oud. This precious resin, extracted from the deepest forests of Borneo, enhances the perfume with the exquisite Tarakan Oud, which exerts an irresistible attraction on its wearer.

In a new, sumptuous and lustrous guise, ALEXANDRIA II ANNIVERSARY by XERJOFF offers a final touch of warmth through musk and vanilla from Madagascar, refined with Australian sandalwood, which leaves an indelible impression. Tarakan Oud refers to a special type of oud extracted from the resin produced by certain trees of the Aquilaria genus. These trees are mainly found in the rainforests of Tarakan, an island in Indonesia. The resin forms in response to infection or injury to the tree and develops a very rich and complex odour over time.  

This resin is then harvested and processed to extract the oud oil, which is prized for its deep, smoky and aromatic qualities and is often used in high-end perfumes. Tarakan oud is known for its exceptional quality and is often highly sought after in perfumery. Nagarmotha, also known as cypriol or scientifically as Cyperus scariosus, is a plant species from the sour grass family (Cyperaceae).

The plant originates from India and is frequently used there and in other parts of Asia in traditional medicine and as a perfume component. Nagarmotha oil has a complex, woody and earthy fragrance with slightly smoky and spicy notes. It is often compared to patchouli or vetiver as it has similar olfactory properties. This deep and rich scent makes it a favourite ingredient in oriental and woody perfume creations. In perfumes, Nagarmotha oil is prized for its intense, warm and earthy tones.

Tuscan iris, also known as Iris florentina, is a special type of iris that is mainly native to Tuscany in Italy. This plant is particularly famous for its eye-catching, light blue or white flowers. The Tuscan iris is highly prized in perfumery because it is one of the main sources of iris butter or iris oil, an essential ingredient in many luxurious fragrances, including XERJOFF's ALEXANDRIA II ANNIVERSARY perfume. The oil is extracted from the rhizomes of the plant, which have to dry for at least two to three years before they can be distilled.
