Behind the Fragrance
Xerjoff - Casamorati - MEFISTO - Eau de Parfum
MEFISTO opens with a fresh and sparkling blend of bergamot, lemon and grapefruit, which give the fragrance an invigorating and energising note. The hint of lavender adds an aromatic and calming quality. At the heart, a floral bouquet of iris, rose and violet unfolds, giving the perfume an elegant and floral depth.
The base notes of musk, fine sandalwood and ambergris provide a warm, sensual and long-lasting foundation that rounds off the fragrance perfectly. Florentine iris gives MEFISTO its typical Italian character. Perhaps the namesake can be found in Goethe's ‘Faust’. MEFISTO is a cynical and manipulative character and offers Faust unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures in exchange for his soul.
A famous quote from Mephisto is: ‘I am the spirit that always denies! And rightly so, for everything that comes into being is worthy to perish. ‘
The fragrance MEFISTO by Casamorati is the result of artistic inspiration and with its individual scent, it not only celebrates the history of Italian colognes but can also evoke memories and accompany its wearer on an olfactory journey.
On this journey it does not perish, but in the drydown MEFISTO becomes lighter and lighter, delicate and subtle until it finally disappears completely.
The spirit of CASAMORATI is a collection by XERJOFF inspired by the historical art of Italian perfumery. The brand dates back to the 19th century and epitomises the elegance and sophistication of the Belle Époque. Casamorati preserves this tradition by using high-quality ingredients and combining classic fragrances with modern luxury. Founded: 1888 in Bologna, Italy. The brand was known for its exclusive perfumes and soaps, which won numerous awards at international exhibitions. Thanks to Sergio Momo and Xerjoff, CASAMORATI was revitalised and today enjoys worldwide recognition.
