The base notes of cedarwood, sandalwood, amber and musk provide a warm and sensual foundation that makes the fragrance long-lasting and irresistible. Iris is one of the most precious and expensive ingredients in perfumery and is prized for its distinctive, powdery and earthy notes. The fragrance is extracted from the root of the iris plant, specifically from the rhizomes of Iris germanica, Iris pallida and Iris florentina.

The rhizomes of the iris are harvested and dried for three to five years. This process is necessary to develop the scent molecules. After drying, the rhizomes are ground into a powder and then distilled to obtain iris butter or iris concrete. These substances contain the coveted irone molecule, which is responsible for the characteristic fragrance.

The MEFISTO fragrance is inspired by the classic Italian barbershops of the late 19th century. These shops were known for their stylish wooden floors and leather chairs, as well as their blend of traditional male grooming and intellectual conversation. Mefisto captures the essence of this era and offers a modern interpretation of a classic gentleman's fragrance. The fragrance is vegan and made without animal products.
