Behind the Fragrance
Xerjoff - RENAISSANCE - XJ 1861 - Eau de Parfum
The fragrance RENAISSANCE by XERJOFF is an ode to Italian excellence and opens with an astonishing moment of revival. The Renaissance, an era that began in the Middle Ages and reached its peak in the 15th and 16th centuries, inevitably evokes associations with Italy. It seemed as if the greatest minds of the time worked there, although other important names such as Shakespeare or Dürer also produced outstanding achievements elsewhere. In this abundance of outstanding personalities, however, the Italian names undoubtedly take first place: Dante Alighieri, the polymath Leonardo da Vinci and, of course, Michelangelo Buanarroti, the creator of the marvellous "David" in Florence and many others. The statue depicts the biblical hero David, who, according to the biblical story, defeated the Philistine giant Goliath. Michelangelo's David perfectly epitomises the ideals of the Renaissance, in particular the pursuit of beauty, perfection and human strength.
The Renaissance was an important cultural, intellectual and artistic movement that began in Italy in the 14th century and spread throughout Europe in the course of the 15th and 16th centuries. The term "Renaissance" comes from the French and means "rebirth". This term was used to describe the revival of interest in ancient Greek and Roman ideas, values and art forms. With the fragrance RENAISSANCE by Xerjoff from the XJ 1861 collection, the beginning is already an astonishing moment.
Bergamot, as clear and radiant as a diamond, greets the wearer with its lively freshness. Accompanied by petitgrain, lime and orange, a multi-faceted citrus composition of exceptional depth and quality emerges. Petitgrain is an essential oil extracted from the leaves and young shoots of bitter orange trees (Citrus aurantium). The name "petitgrain" comes from the French and means "small grain" or "small berry", which refers to the small fruits of the tree from which the oil is extracted. This essential oil is often valued for its refreshing, calming and purifying properties. It has a pleasant, slightly citrusy fragrance with woody and floral undertones.
In the heart of RENAISSANCE from the XJ 1861 collection by XERJOFF, a transparent sea of flowers unfolds, in which roses and lily of the valley harmonise with green floral notes. The addition of mint gives the bouquet a dynamic note and refreshes the senses. Mint adds a lively and dynamic note to perfumes, often found in fresh or aromatic fragrances. It can be combined with other citrus notes such as bergamot or lime to create a sparkling and energising fragrance. In addition, mint can also be mixed with floral or woody notes to create an interesting contrast and add depth to the perfume. The base notes of woody, ambery nuances give RENAISSANCE by Xerjoff substance and depth. Patchouli, cedar and a hint of musk round off the olfactory experience, which perfectly captures Italian vibrancy and sophistication. The character of the fragrance is fresh and reminiscent of classic colognes, but with a modern and sophisticated interpretation. RENAISSANCE by XERJOFF embodies the maxim "beautiful and high quality" and is a tribute to the tradition and heritage of Italy.
