From chemistry to the art of fragrance – a Greek journey
You will meet a perfumer who combines science and sensuality in a unique way. Christina Koutsoudaki was born in Greece and initially studied chemistry at the National University of Athens. Her passion for fragrances led her to pursue a career in perfumery, which she began with an internship in the industry. She has been working as a professional perfumer for over 20 years and currently heads the fragrance creation department at VIORYL SA, Greece's only fragrance manufacturer.
A signature of clarity and depth
Christina's creations are characterized by a subtle balance between floral, citrus, and musky notes. She loves to interpret familiar scents like iris and musk in new contexts, evoking emotions like nostalgia and comfort. Her fragrances are often inspired by Greek nature and culture, which gives them a special depth and authenticity.
Her works at scent amor – SEΛENE by Manos Gerakinis
An outstanding example of her work is Seλene, a collaboration with Greek designer Manos Gerakinis. This fragrance captures the atmosphere of an Athenian summer night, with notes of bitter orange, jasmine, and musk. SEΛENE is a tribute to Greek mythology and the beauty of nature, which Christina has masterfully translated into fragrance.
