Hamid Merati-Kashani is an experienced perfumer at Firmenich with an impressive career spanning more than three decades. Born in Germany and raised in Iran, he has a unique perspective on perfumery shaped by the rich cultural influences of both countries. After the Iranian revolution, his family moved back to Germany where Hamid was introduced to the world of fragrance.

He began his career at Dragoco, one of Symrise's predecessor companies, where he completed his training as a perfumer. Merati-Kashani has created a number of notable fragrances for well-known brands such as Carolina Herrera, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Michael Kors. Particularly noteworthy are his creations for Parfums de Marly, including Layton and its exclusive variant, as well as Percival. His fragrances are often powerful and long-lasting, which makes them special in the perfumery industry.
