Behind the Fragrance
Parfums de Marly - PEGASUS - Eau de Parfum
Born in 1784, Pegasus was the winner of many horse races, perhaps because he was descended from the famous ancestor of the English thoroughbred Darley Arabian. This superb fragrance from the house of Parfums de Marly reflects strength, speed, elegance and the exhilarating feeling of victory. The sparkling bergamot, floral heliotrope and mild caraway create an invigorating and subtly spicy opening, which is harmoniously complemented by the middle notes of lavender and jasmine. However, these are dominated by an exceptional, characteristic and at times slightly metallic almond note. Ambra, subtle vanilla and sandalwood add to the refined spirit of the composition.
PEGASUS by Parfums de Marly is a true gentleman's fragrance, triumphing in a fair competition and leaving the field as the winner in a sophisticated encounter. Sporting, energetic, with its own profile, yet always elegant. PEGASUS is a fragrance that remains true to its origins and is suitable for a gentleman. This woody and exceptionally distinguished fragrance begins with a harmonious balance of fruit, wood and spice, evolving through cypress, bergamot and heliotrope. In the heart, jasmine, lavender and bitter almond come together in a beautifully interwoven combination to create a pudgy, fresh note. The base lingers on the skin with a blend of vanilla with an oriental twist of amber and sandalwood. Made in France, the fragrance offers olfactory notes of cypress, bergamot and heliotrope in the top notes, jasmine, lavender and bitter almond in the heart, and vanilla, amber and sandalwood in the base. It is recommended to wear in spring, autumn and winter, both during the day and at night.
The "nose" of PEGASUS by Parfums de Marly is Hamid Merati-Kashani. He is an experienced perfumer at Firmenich with an impressive career spanning more than three decades. Born in Germany and raised in Iran, he has a unique perspective on perfumery, shaped by the rich cultural influences of both countries. After the Iranian revolution, his family moved back to Germany, where Hamid was introduced to the world of fragrance. He began his career at Dragoco, one of Symrise's predecessor companies, where he trained as a perfumer. After twelve years, he moved to Firmenich, where he worked first in Cologne and later in Brazil and Dubai. His work at Firmenich allowed him to further diversify and perfect his skills, particularly in the creation of niche fragrances known for their intensity and longevity.
