Two years ago, Luca Maffei sent me a sample of a fragrance that had an incense note that I really liked. We worked intensively on this note, refining it and making it more sensual, until we arrived at the final project, which I absolutely love".  Roberto Drag  

The composition described is a fascinating ode to the depth and complexity of frankincense, enriched with a symphony of exquisite resins and spices. It opens with the duality of two precious frankincense notes that immediately unfold their mysterious presence. The heart is dominated by the warm, balsamic notes of citrine rose and elemi, a resin with zesty, spicy nuances, which blend seamlessly with other spicy elements found in both the top note and the base of the fragrance. This fragrance has a sensual and profound character, reflecting the essence of a genuine incense that is both calming and inspiring. It is a fragrance with character, ideal for those looking for a distinctive yet subtle signature.

Hydrocarbon resins are a group of synthetic resins used in perfumery to give depth, warmth and a degree of adhesion to fragrances. These resins are obtained from the polymerisation of unsaturated hydrocarbons. They are particularly valuable in perfumery because they act as fixatives, helping to reduce the volatility of other fragrances and improve the longevity of the fragrance on the skin. Hydrocarbon resins can also help to enhance the olfactory properties of a fragrance by providing a subtle, woody and often slightly sweet background. They can be found in several fragrance families, especially in oriental and woody fragrances, where they help to create rich and complex accords.

Ambermax is a synthetic fragrance used in perfumery to create a rich, warm and woody ambranote. It is a product of Firmenich, a leading company in the fragrance industry. Ambermax is often used to add depth and warmth to fragrances, and is known for providing a particularly powerful and long-lasting ambra note. Fumencens is a very special ingredient in a fragrance composition and is rarely used. It is obtained by high temperature dry distillation of Boswellia carterii Bidrw followed by molecular destillation. Fumencens is a dark liquid. Fumencens has a smoky character, like burning olibanum resin. Once the smokiness has dissipated, incense and a light citrus note come to the fore. A soft finish of incense at the end.
