The Nile, known as the cradle of civilisations, is the lifeline for a land rich in fruit trees and fertile and flourishing fields. In ancient Egyptian culture, the bee symbolised royal power and was mythologically born from the tears of the sun god Rê. Its honey was considered a sacred drink for newlyweds, from which the term ‘honeymoon’ is derived. Honey was also widely used in medical writings and in the embalming rituals of the pharaohs.

SECRET DU NIL by Maison Nectar Olfactif is an olfactory homage to this rich history and offers a delicious and floral fragrance experience. Hesperidean notes such as bergamot, orange and neroli blend harmoniously with the oriental accents of almond, vanilla and musk. The perfumer of SECRET DU NIL, Sidonie Lancesseur is a perfumer from France who works for the Robertet company. She trained at the ISIPCA in Versailles, where she learnt the basics of perfumery. Her career began with a summer internship at Robertet in Grasse, which sparked her passion for fragrances. Since then, she has worked with many renowned perfumers and has made a name for herself through her ability to materialise emotions and memories through fragrances.

Lancesseur is known for her preference for clear, authentic fragrance compositions that are often characterised by a limited number of ingredients, with each ingredient playing a specific role in the scent. Her work includes creations for Olfactive Studio, such as ‘Lumière Blanche’ and ‘Dancing Light’.

The design of NECTAR OLFACTIF is a tribute to natural elegance and the fascinating world of bees and the plant world. The bottle has a cubic shape with a honey-coloured lacquered interior that draws a direct connection to the essence of bees. The design of the cap takes on the shape of a honeycomb, emphasising the deep inspiration of the bee colony.
