Patchouli II by Sophie Labbé is the other interpretation of patchouli - fresh, aromatic and a little elegant. Delicate, powdery notes from iris root and violet leaves provide a little vintage feeling, which, together with ambroxan and cypress, give this modern creation a timeless, clean character. This is a modern, young patchouli fragrance created by Sophie Labbé.

Sophie is characterized by her winning smile and positive energy. Growing up between Paris and the Charente-Maritime, her roots are a mix of the hustle and bustle of the capital and the tranquility of the long rows of vines in the countryside. Sophie has retained the magic of contrasts and the love of the land, which she passes on when she refines a rose from Grasse or a neroli from Tunisia with unexpected harmony.

She loves gardening and often compares it to the art of perfumery. Certain encounters played a pivotal role in Sophie's journey, notably her meeting with perfumer Jean Kerléo in 1985, which opened her eyes to a world aligned with her roots and values. After completing her studies in chemistry, Sophie pursued her passion at the Isipca perfume school. Graduating at the top of her class in 1987, she embarked on her career, spending five years at Givaudan and 27 years at IFF before joining Firmenich in 2019.

Today, Sophie Labbé finds solace in the novels of Aki Shimazaki and reminisces about the rugged French coastline, where the salty scent of strawflower bushes fills the air. During summers, she embarks on catamaran adventures or explores Italy, drawing inspiration from every journey to weave new perfume tales. Sophie's exceptional talent and unwavering dedication have resulted in the creation of some of the world's most beloved perfumes.

Her remarkable contributions to fragrance compositions like Bulgari Jasmin Noir, Calvin Klein Beauty and Estée Lauder Pure White Linen have earned her numerous accolades and the respect of her peers. As the head perfumer at Firmenich today, Sophie continues to push the boundaries of fragrance creation with her unmatched talent and creativity.
