C'I'AAN is an eau de parfum by SOURCE ADAGE that was launched in 2016. The name C'I'AAN comes from the Ahtna language of South Alaska and means ‘new moon’. This fragrance is inspired by the unique landscape of Alaska, where arctic cold meets the warmth of the forests.

C'I'AAN by SOURCE ADAGE is a journey to a place where dense forests and icy fjords meet under the aurora borealis.

A journey through the wilderness of the Arctic, where tall, evergreen trees mingle with icy fjords and the mesmerising play of the Northern Lights takes place. This unique fragrance experience is inspired by nature's most remote and impressive landscapes.

From the earthy depths of centuries-old forests to the crystal-clear freshness of icy fjords. Each fragrance tells a story and paints pictures of unspoilt landscapes and skies.

Top notes: Juniper CO2 extract, spearmint, fir

Heart notes: Apple, Cedar

Juniper CO2 extract is a high-quality fragrance obtained from the berries of the juniper bush (Juniperus communis) using an environmentally friendly CO2 extraction process. This method is considered to be particularly effective in preserving the natural flavours and properties of the plant.

Raw material: The ripe juniper berries are collected, dried and prepared for extraction. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is pressurised to a supercritical state in which it has both gas and liquid-like properties. The CO2 dissolves the aromatic and fat-soluble components from the juniper berries. After extraction, the pressure is lowered so that the CO2 becomes gaseous again and leaves no residue in the extract. The result is a highly concentrated, oily extract with an intense, authentic juniper flavour.

Fresh: A green, lively freshness reminiscent of pine.

Spicy: Subtle, peppery and slightly balsamic nuances.

Resinous: A gentle, woody warmth that grounds the fragrance.

Fruity: A slightly sweet, fruity note reminiscent of berries.

The juniper CO2 extract has a deep, complex aura and is more authentic and intense than juniper oil obtained by distillation.

C'I'AAN Eau de Parfum from the SOURCE ADAGE collection combines fresh, woody and sweet notes reminiscent of the crisp air and dense forests of Alaska. The fragrance is described as complex and offers both warm and fresh arctic accords.

C'I'AAN was created in collaboration with perfumer Thomas Siedel of Agilex (Firmenich).

Thomas Siedel is a perfumer with many years of experience and is currently Head of Perfumery and Creative Perfumer at Agilex Fragrances. He was employed by Givaudan / Quest International as a fragrance specialist from 1997 to 2006. He has been working for Agilex Fragrances since 2007 and specialises in the development of perfumes for various applications.
