Mortal Skin by Stephane Humbert Lucas holds its audience under its spell. A jet of black ink blended with incense creates an uplifting, hypnotic aura. A delicate balance between the desire for freedom and the allure of conviction is established. Blackberry and saffron accentuate the cardamom aromas, adding layers of complexity. Surrounded by myrrh and smooth, glossy leather on the brink of consent, the body freezes and the mind begins to wander. Traditionally collected through a process called "scraping", labdanum has a rich, warm and balsamic scent with sweet, earthy and woody notes. Today, labdanum is mainly obtained through solvent extraction or steam distillation, contributing to perfumes with its deep, oriental warmth and a touch of animalic nuance.
