Behind the Fragrance

Xerjoff Casamorati LA TOSCA Eau de Parfum

Inspired by the master composer Giacomo Puccini, La Tosca Casamorati immediately evokes the splendour of Italian opera and Giacomo Puccini. It is Puccini's famous opera based on the drama ‘La Tosca’ by Victorien Sardou. This opera, which premiered on 14 January 1900 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome, is one of the best-known and most frequently performed works of opera literature.

The opera is set in Rome in 1800, during the Napoleonic Wars, and tells the dramatic story of the singer Floria Tosca, her lover, the painter Mario Cavaradossi, and the unscrupulous police chief Baron Scarpia. This story was the inspiration for Casamorati's fragrance creation - LA TOSCA. Like Puccini's opera, the overture of the fragrance begins with fresh, Mediterranean citrus notes that lead to the characteristic heart of Bulgarian rose and violet leaves.

A hint of eucalyptus gives this floral heart a very special arc of tension. The final act with musk, ambergris, vanilla and a little patchouli oil make the fragrance a must for every lover of dramatic scents, although the heart notes will also delight fans of rosier, mintier fragrances. Casamorati - A tribute to the art of Italian perfumery.

Casamorati is a collection inspired by the historic art of Italian perfumery. Originally founded in Italy in the 19th century, this collection is an ode to the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the glamorous Art Nouveau era.

The collection retains its artistic expression and authenticity through the exclusive use of the highest quality materials, which were also used in ‘La Fabbrica di Profumi di C. Casamorati, founded in Bologna in 1888. Thanks to Sergio Momo and the revitalisation of this collection, Casamorati now enjoys worldwide recognition.

In the past years of production, Casamorati has received numerous awards and prestigious prizes at national and international exhibitions. The brand is particularly well known for producing the favourite essences of Queen Margherita of Savoy. This revival of the historic perfume tradition reflects the deep connection between past and present, combining classic elegance with modern luxury.

Casamorati remains a symbol of Italian refinement and excellence in perfumery.
