Heart notes: Smoked black tea, Guaiac Wood, Birch Tar

Base notes: Leatherwood, Ambrostar, Labdanum

Ambrostar is a further development of ambroxan, but is clearer and less sweet. Compared to other synthetic amber notes, such as Cashmeran or Ambermax, Ambrostar has a more precise, dry and structured aura. Ambrostar is an essential ingredient in today's perfumery and has established itself as a favourite molecule due to its versatility and performance. It gives MOONLIGHT CEREMONY by MYSTIKUM an unmistakable signature and is a cornerstone of many modern fragrance creations.

Leatherwood’ is a term often used in modern perfumery to describe a combination of fragrance notes reminiscent of leather, wood and spices. It does not consist of a specific natural essence, but is composed of various synthetic molecules and natural extracts. These also give the impression of soft leather and warm woods in MOONLIGHT CEREMONY by MYSTIKUM.

Opoponax, also known as ‘sweet myrrh’, is an aromatic resin extracted from the Commiphora erythraea plant or related species. It originates from Somalia, Ethiopia and Sudan and belongs to the balsam tree family (Burseraceae). The resin is obtained by scratching the bark so that a sap emerges and hardens. The scent of Opoponax is warm, sweet and balsamic. It has a calming and sensual aura that is often compared to the scent of myrrh, although the fragrance is softer and sweeter.

The ‘nose’ of the MOONLIGHT CEREMONY fragrance by MYSTIKUM

Alexandre Illan began his career at the perfume house in Grasse, where he trained as a perfumer at the Mane Perfume School before devoting himself to perfumery. He joined the Aroma Molecules team at Symrise, one of the world's leading fragrance and flavour companies, in spring 2018. 

Illan is known for his curiosity and passion for accords, textures and raw materials of all kinds. For him, perfumery is a playground where he can express emotions. He mixes different ingredients to create both concrete and abstract compositions. 

One outstanding project is his collaboration with the German band Rammstein, for whom he developed several perfumes, including ‘Kokain’, ‘Kokain Intense’ and ‘Gasolin’. These fragrances are characterised by an intense and provocative scent profile that reflects the band's identity.
