Behind the Fragrance

nomenclature - ORB_ITAL - Eau de Parfum

Orbitone® has the unique ability to soften other fragrances and create a harmonious blend between mossy, woody and floral notes. This gives fragrance compositions a light and airy quality reminiscent of clouds. Since the early 1990s, Iso E Super, a transparent, woody, ambrier fragrance, has shaped modern perfumery and is unparalleled, according to fragrance chemist Philip Kraft. Developed by Takasago, Orbitone® is a sophisticated and surprisingly structured version of the indispensable Iso E Super fragrance.

In ORB_ITAL, created by Patricia Choux, the balancing properties of Orbitone® are skilfully used to create an impressive olfactory universe. The notes of violets and rhabarber mingle with the spiciness of pepper, the earthiness of zeder and the intensity of roasted coffee. Tobacco, smoke and a light touch of lit incense complete the composition. Pepper is chosen as the main ingredient, bringing together the different facets of ORB_ITAL. The cool yet spicy note of pepper pervades the entire fragrance composition, from the head notes to the base notes, drawing on a creamy sandalwood compound called Hindinol®, anchored by holy olibanum.

Hindinol® is a synthetic molecule produced by Takasago, a renowned manufacturer of fragrances. It is known for its woody and slightly smoky scent, which is often used in fragrance compositions to give them a particularly warm and deep note. Hindinol® can be used in a variety of fragrances to create complex olfactory experiences, particularly in fragrances that emphasise a masculine or earthy note. Orbitone® is a synthetic fragrance developed by Takasago. It is a colourless substance, best known for its woody and ambrosial notes and is often used in perfumes to give them a velvety depth and sophistication.

Patricia Choux is a renowned perfumer who has lived and worked in New York since 2005. She began her career by training at the prestigious ISIPCA school for perfumers in Paris, followed by an apprenticeship at Symrise in Holzminden, Germany, one of the world's largest fragrance companies. Her creative career has taken her to several international cities including London and Paris. Choux is known for her bold and chic fragrance creations, which are heavily influenced by her travels. Her favourite ingredients are jasmine, for its noble qualities, and patchouli, for its many facets. She has created fragrances for well-known brands such as Jo Malone, Laura Mercier and Marc Jacobs, and is also known for her work with the fragrance brand Mane. Some of her better known works include creations such as 'Attache moi 55', created in collaboration with Olivia Bransbourg, and contributions to the fragrances of brands such as Carven and Clive Christian.
