Behind the Fragrance
Parfums de Marly - VALAYA - Eau de Parfum
The scent VALAYA by Parfums de Marly: A top class perfume. In the spirit of "less is more", this clean and pure composition offers an exceptional concentration of flowers, woods and moschus. A brilliant explosion of a bright and creamy bouquet of white flowers characterises this fragrance. Developed with Givaudan's floral captives, VALAYA is a very modern fragrance with woody, floral and mossy notes. The floral elements are composed of the minimalist Nympheal, the opulent transparency of Mahonial and the floral note of Petalia. The woods are rich in ambroxan and akigala wood molecules. The mosquito, a carefully guarded secret, has been fine-tuned to enhance the sensuality of the fragrance. A tribute to femininity.
Givaudan's "floral captives" are a series of exclusive olfactive molecules specifically designed to create unique and differentiated olfactive profiles in fragrances. These molecules are designed to provide very specific and distinctive floral notes not found in conventional fragrances. Examples of such captives are Nympheal and Esterly. Nympheal offers a distinctive white floral profile with a hint of lime blossom, adding volume and a creamy floral character to fragrance compositions.
Ambrofix is a fragrance known for its strong, persistent and stable ambra note and is often used in fine fragrances. Originally, Ambrofix could be obtained from a natural source derived from muscatel salbei. However, Givaudan has developed an innovative biotechnological process to produce Ambrofix from sugar cane through fermentation. This process is not only more sustainable, but also requires hundreds of times less land than traditional methods. Ambrofix is completely biodegradable and naturally derived, making it an environmentally friendly choice in the fragrance industry.
Akigalawood is an intriguing fragrance derived from the biotechnological processing of patchouli oil. This innovative ingredient is renowned for its unique, spicy, woody profile, which combines aspects of pepper with the woody facets of patchouli and agarwood. Akigalawood is valued for its ability to lend a rich and complex note to fragrances, often combined with notes such as Ambrofix to create a long-lasting and powerful composition. The perfumer behind Parfums de Marly's VALAYA fragrance is Julien Sprecher, who worked closely with French perfumer Quentin Bisch on this creation. This fragrance is a combination of floral, mossy and woody notes, a modern interpretation of classic elements.
