The creative mind behind the Corfu Kumquat fragrance is Ilias Ermenidis. His journey into the world of perfumery is deeply influenced by his multicultural upbringing. Born in Istanbul, he spent his formative years there before relocating to Athens. Exposed to diverse cultures and languages from an early age, Ermenidis developed into a true global citizen, evident in his remarkable language skills and ability to connect with individuals from various backgrounds. Ermenidis' fascination with fragrance began during his youth, shaped by his experiences in his father's perfume and fragrance factory in Istanbul. Interning there during summers fueled his passion for scents. Later, he pursued formal studies in perfumery in Paris, laying the foundation for his remarkable career.

Joining Firmenich marked a significant milestone, where he proudly became the first trainee perfumer to graduate from ISIP (Institut supérieur international du perfume), founded by Jean Jacques Guerlain. For Ermenidis, Firmenich transcended being merely a workplace; it became a space where he could fully express his passion and creativity. His move to New York marked another pivotal chapter, where he found comfort and thrived in the vibrant atmosphere of the city over the past two decades. Rooted in his Mediterranean heritage, Ermenidis attributes his positive outlook to his upbringing and cherishes the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends in Greece every summer.
