Cierge de Lune, a gem from the Aedes collection, pays homage to the majestic Queen of the Night cactus and the rich aroma of deep vanilla. Its essence mirrors the freshness of desert air under the glow of moonlight, while exuding a sensuality akin to the velvet embrace of a midnight sky. Inspired by the Queen of the Night flower, also known as Selenicereus Grandiflorus, this fragrance captures the slow unfurling of its magnificent blossoms after sunset, a phenomenon that enchants the senses.
The evocative name "Cierge de Lune," meaning "moon altar candle," adds to the enchantment surrounding this fragrance. Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin's collaboration with Karl Bradl, co-founder of Aedes in New York, has resulted in a captivating scent that weaves together a diverse array of notes, from crisp clarity to hints of spicy vanilla and delicate incense. Madagascar vanilla imparts a dark, amber-like richness, complemented by Tahitian vanilla's subtle leather undertones. Elements such as hedione, ylang-ylang, and a blend of pink and black pepper contribute to the fragrance's magical allure.

FABRICE PELLEGRIN serves as the mastermind behind Cierge de Lune. His deep ties to the perfume tradition of Grasse, France, stem from his family's involvement in the industry for generations. His expertise and dedication have enriched niche brands, earning him the prestigious French Fifi Award in 2013. Currently, he leads the natural ingredient development department at Firmenich in Grasse, while continuing to create captivating fragrances such as "Volutes" by Diptyque and "London Blackberry & Bay" for Jo Malone.
Pellegrin's connection to Grasse is profound, rooted in memories of olive groves, cypress trees, and sun-drenched landscapes. He cherishes the wisdom passed down by previous generations, which he acquired through close collaboration and meticulous study of perfume-making processes. Beyond his role as a creative perfumer, Pellegrin is deeply involved in the development of natural products at Firmenich, embodying the spirit of Grasse in his work.
