A battle, a conflict between the various protagonists. In Laboratorio Olfattivo - VANHERA, the Madagascan vanilla is trying to find its place in a universe of ingredients that want to outshine it. The fragrance is surrounded, quickly besieged, by spicy notes of pepper, cardamom and cinnamon; it is embraced by warm notes of sandalwood and cashmeran, and accompanied by carmine wood, wood silk and ambry notes. Luca Maffei grew up surrounded by an infinite number of perfume samples and mingled with many famous names in perfumery, such as Lucas Sieuzac, Dominique Ropion and Michel Almairac. His father was already at home in the world of perfume. This unique environment and upbringing awakened Lucas' fascination for fragrance ingredients and the mysterious alchemy of fragrance creation.

Luca Maffei originally studied economics with the aim of creating a perfume company, but soon decided that his passions lay on the creative side. At the age of 22, he moved to Grasse to study with Françoise Marin, the former director of the Roure Perfumery School. After training with Vincent Ricord, Maffei began a close collaboration with master perfumer Maurizio Cerizza, who encouraged him to enter The Scent of Excellence Contest at Exience. With the creation of Atelier Fragranze Milano in 2014, Luca Maffei became a member of the Société Française des Parfumeurs (SFP). Since then, he has created over 50 fragrances for mainstream and niche brands, as well as air fresheners and candles.

Maffei has worked with a wide range of brands, including Acca Kappa, Aedes de Venustas, Alyssa Ashley, Carthusia, Histoires de Parfums, Jul et Mad Paris and Perris Monte Carlo, to name but a few. Some of his most popular fragrances include Masque Milano L'Attesa, Jul et Mad Paris Néa, Histoires de Parfums This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1.2, Carthusia Terra Mia and Perris Monte Carlo Rose de Taif. With his continued passion and innovation, Maffei will inspire future generations of perfumers and fragrance lovers alike. For Louis Vuitton, Luca Maffei created Métaboles in 2016, a floral, woody composition, and in the same year, Note di Colonia I for Acqua di Parma. A modern interpretation of classic colognes.
