He began his career at the perfume house in Grasse, where he trained as a perfumer at the Mane Perfume School before devoting himself to perfumery. He joined the Aroma Molecules team at Symrise, one of the world's leading fragrance and flavour companies, in spring 2018. 

Illan is known for his curiosity and passion for accords, textures and raw materials of all kinds. For him, perfumery is a playground where he can express emotions. He mixes different ingredients to create both concrete and abstract compositions.
