LES INDES GALANTES is a tribute to the enchanting spice islands and far-flung realms of the East. Drawing inspiration from the lavish and sensual aromas of Indian spice markets, the fragrance whisks the wearer away to a world of oriental opulence and abundance. A gourmand note adds to the allure, making LES INDES GALANTES a truly sensual journey to an imaginary exotic land. The mesmerizing blend of precious spices, flowers and fruits awakens the senses, stirring emotions and captivating the soul.
Cécile Zarokian, an independent perfumer based in Paris, founded her own company in 2011. With over 15 years of experience in the perfume industry, she has crafted more than a hundred fragrances for various brands across European, Middle Eastern, and Latin American markets. Cécile's journey began with a four-year apprenticeship at Robertet, a renowned French perfume house. Her debut fragrance, Epic Woman, created during this period, has become one of Amouage's best-selling scents. Shortly after this accomplishment, she graduated from ISIPCA, the internationally acclaimed perfumery school established by JJ Guerlain in Versailles.
"Les Indes galantes" (subtitled: "Heroic Ballet") stands as the inaugural piece in a series of six opera ballets composed by Jean-Philippe Rameau, premiering in 1735. Comprising a prologue and four entries with a libretto by Louis Fuzelier, this work is widely regarded as the quintessential masterpiece within the opera ballet genre. Its enduring popularity ensures frequent performances and solidifies its place as a cornerstone among Rameau's lyrical compositions.
