Behind the Fragrance
Parfums MDCI - L'AIMÉE - Eau de Parfum
L'AIMÉE is a romantic and feminine fragrance that artfully captures the sweet and tender facets of love. Crafted by the talented nose Nathalie Feisthauer, this fragrance stands as one of her masterpieces, emanating a delicately vintage charm and enveloping its wearer in a velvety, powdery aura. The composition unfolds like a captivating still life, where delicious fruits delicately shimmer with the opening notes of currant's acidity, balanced by the juicy sweetness of tangerines and illuminated by the tart, citrusy bergamot. A creamy scent emerges as jasmine and lily of the valley intertwine, while the lively, floral presence of orange blossom underlines the fruity sweetness. The harmonious inclusion of rose is complemented by occasional appearances of peach and the exotic champaka. The overall effect is charming and enchanting. Champaka, also known as Champac or Champa, brings its valued essence to the fragrance. Native to South and Southeast Asia, the champaka flower imparts an intense and exotic scent with rich, floral, sweet, woody and slightly spicy nuances.
Feisthauer skillfully utilizes champaka to create a complex and intriguing scent composition at the heart of the perfume. Despite the fragrance's subtly provocative nature, it maintains a soft, powdery and spicy warmth with extremely subtle animalic nuances, wrapped in tempting vanilla. L'AIMÉE is a beautiful women's fragrance that successfully balances the traditions of classic and modern perfumery, showcasing Feisthauer's expertise in creating multifaceted scents. The motif on the bottle, part of the series "Painters and Perfumers", features an oil painting by Jacques-Louis David. The artwork depicts Madam Sériziat, a figure known for her association with David and his turbulent personal life during the French Revolution. The painting captures Madam Sériziat holding a bouquet in one hand and a child in the other, exuding a natural and elegant demeanor against a simple background. This artistic connection between painting and perfume further enhances the multifaceted nature of L'AIMÉE.
