Behind the Fragrance
Paul Smith - EARLY BIRD - Scented Candle
A tribute to the poetry of English rain. It is the scent of falling raindrops on a cloudy morning on a wet pavement.
The glass jar with contrasting lid is designed to be used again and again.
Why not give your burnt-out candle and its jar a new life as a pen or flower pot? Or use it as storage for art supplies or toiletries. The lid serves to cover the extinguished candle and can be used as a colourful accent and coaster while the candle is burning.
Perfumer: Céline Barel
CAUTION: Only burn this candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Do not burn for more than four hours at a time. Trim the wick to 5 mm. Discontinue use when 10 mm of wax remains or the wick disc becomes visible. Allow the wax to harden before moving. Be careful when extinguishing the flame. Space candles at least 10cm apart and leave room for the flame.
Paul Smith Home Collection
Sir Paul Brierley Smith, British fashion designer and entrepreneur, founded his first business, Paul Smith Ltd, in Nottingham in 1970.
The son of a tailor, he originally wanted to become a racing cyclist, but his dream was dashed after a road accident at the age of seventeen. Paul Smith got a job in a fashion shop through his father. Pauline Denyer, his girlfriend and now wife, brought him into contact with the world of fashion and design and encouraged Paul Smith to become creative in fashion design himself. This is the foundation stone for the Paul Smith label.
Quote: "Every day of my life I see something that makes me smile."
Céline Barel, Meabh Mc Curtin and Stephanie Anderson, three young and talented noses from the house of IFF are responsible for the realisation of Paul Smith's memories. They have succeeded in capturing his story olfactorily and presenting these fragrances to Paul Smith in his typical design and world of colour.
