This is the fragrance that made us famous in 2008. An unusual combination, once created from a homemade essence of herbs, citrus fruits, and flowers. During my journey into the world of perfume making, I familiarized myself with many traditional methods. This helped me to explore the alluring relationships between the plants themselves. There is no better way to learn a skill than to simply start. That's the essence of Cowboy Grass. Despite its strangeness, it was an instant success.

COWBOY GRASS is a game of contrasts. The freshness of bergamot meets the dustiness of thyme. The medicinal nuances of clary sage and basil dance with the delicacy of rose oil. And finally, the dry crackle of vetiver, combined with the warm amber note of benzoin resin. COWBOY GRASS evokes the spirit of the American West. The landscape is filled with grasses, herbs and shrubs that have been used for thousands of years as medicine, food and for rituals. It's impossible to describe how vast the Wild West is. The first time I toured the country with a band in college, I remember one plant kept sticking to the front of our van. It was everywhere that year. I later found out it was clary sage. I was shocked to see real tumbleweeds, the Rocky Mountains, deserts and more. 

Clary sage is the centerpiece of COWBOY GRASS. An herb once used to treat "eye tears" or other ancient horrible ailments, clary sage gives off a spicy, whitish green, fresh and powerful scent. It can be channeled in many directions. In COWBOY GRASS, the green grass notes are woven into the top of the fragrance, where they meet the rosewood freshness and bergamot. The grass scent is rounded off at the end, where a rich scent of vetiver and amber is at home. The vastness of the grasslands is almost sacred to every American. COWBOY GRASS is like travelling through the prairies. Not the warm aristocratic leather of fine sofas, but rather the worn, tattered leather of the saddles worn by riders crossing the West. Perhaps there's even an allusion to the ashy, oily scent of an antique Colt .45 strapped to your belt. Maybe that's what it smells like when Mick sings the chorus in "Torn & Frayed" (part of the Stones' epic "Exile on Main Street" - a masterpiece of American musical idioms).
