Everyone seems to have an opinion about it. Authentic oud oil is considered one of the most precious perfume ingredients on the planet.

The rare woods from the jungles of South East Asia are guarded by the state - theft is punishable by death! Whole tree trunks of eaglewood, infected with the black resin, are traded for a fortune. Oud is the stuff of legend - now threatened by ruthless deforestation. Aromatically, oud is a veritable treasure trove of variety and complexity. Depending on its origin, age and extraction method, it unfolds a dazzling variety of nuances - from woody to spicy, floral, smoky, earthy, musky and animalistic.

The hunt for rare oud, which is applied directly to the skin, is very different from the art of perfume making. "NOTORIOUS OUD" - to me that means sitting in the middle of Brooklyn and pondering a rare Indonesian oud that I've uncovered. I dream of how its essence could blossom and unfold from a simple oil into a beguiling perfume. Using the most exquisite ingredients from around the world - Bulgarian rose, French lavender, Egyptian papyrus and Afghan saffron - I have created a framework to envelop this wonderfully complex oud accord. An oud that shines with lightness and grace on the skin.

Cetalox®, also known as Ambroxan, is a synthetic fragrance commonly used in modern perfumery. It is a synthetic alternative to ambergris, which is derived from sperm whale digestion. He built the fragrance with high-quality materials from around the world, including Bulgarian rose, French lavender, Egyptian papyrus and Afghani saffron.
