Inspired by the wild but beautiful backyards of Reykjavik, No. 101 captures the essence of our short but bright summers, prolonged by the eternal daylight. It evokes the flavours and sounds of urban summer life and echoes the heart of the city. And as quickly as summer has arrived, it gives way to the icy grip of winter.

Fischersund No. 101 Eau de Parfum is a unique unisex perfume that captures the essence of the green backyards of Reykjavik. The fragrance was created in 2022 by Jón Þór ‘Jónsi’ Birgisson, the frontman of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós. It is part of the family business Fischersund, which Jónsi founded together with his siblings. The brand is known for its handmade perfumes, which it develops and sells from its main shop in the centre of Reykjavík.

No. 101 captures the atmosphere of the short but intense Icelandic summer. The sun shines around the clock and fills the city with life. The fragrance is reminiscent of the fresh, herbaceous flavours of Reykjavík's gardens, combined with subtle smoky nuances reminiscent of convivial evenings outdoors.

Fischersund attaches great importance to a holistic fragrance experience. No. 101 is accompanied by a specially composed song called ‘Bakgarðar’ (Icelandic for ‘backyard’) by Jónsi, Sin Fang and Kjartan Holm. The song interprets the fragrance musically and offers an immersive, multi-sensory experience.

The perfume's packaging is also lavishly designed: Each bottle is wrapped in a specially designed bandana containing illustrations that reflect the elements of the fragrance. This design emphasises the combination of art, music and fragrance that is at the heart of Fischersund's philosophy.

Customers describe No. 101 as ‘very fresh and authentically herbaceous’ with a ‘lush and vibrant’ scent. The longevity is perceived as remarkably good at over 6 hours, with the fragrance remaining constant throughout the day.
