Behind the Fragrance
Isabey - LA ROUTE D'EMERAUDE - Eau de Parfum
LA ROUTE D'EMERAUDE is an eau de parfum created by Julien Viard in 1924. The fragrance is presented in a faceted bottle reminiscent of the splendor of the Far East, as is the design of the elegant case in which it is presented. This fragrance was inspired by a trip to the Emerald Triangle (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia). It is imbued with a touch of nostalgia and filled with the scents of jasmine sambac and ylang ylang. Many lovers of the Orient have traveled to these distant lands and experienced feelings that are captured in this mystical perfume.
LA ROUTE D'EMERAUDE is an extraordinary fragrance experience that contains an opulent and beguiling jewel: Sambac Jasmine. Experience the sparkling freshness of bergamot, spiced with cinnamon and soothed with rose essence, while an extravagant floral bouquet unfolds. The sensuality of Sambac jasmine combines with the absolute of Moroccan jasmine, orange blossom and the lushness of tuberose to create a seductive harmony of powerful white flowers, further enriched by ylang-ylang. This fragrance composition is adorned with the precious notes of ambergris, benzoin, vanilla and musk, which give this fragrant jewel a unique and seductive touch.
Arabian jasmine, scientifically known as Jasminum sambac, is a flowering plant from the olive family (Oleaceae). This plant species is native to South and Southeast Asia and is often prized for its fragrant flowers. Arabian jasmine is an evergreen shrub or climber that bears dense clusters of small, white flowers that exude a beguiling and sweet fragrance. These flowers are often used in perfumery and are known for their intense and sensual scent.
The original fragrance LA ROUTE D'EMERAUDE by Isabey was introduced in 1924, but as with many historical perfumes, the specific details about the perfumer are often difficult to ascertain or not well documented. The modern version of this fragrance, reissued to preserve its classic character, was created by Jean Jacques. Jean Jacques is known for his ability to reinterpret historical fragrances with a modern twist and has demonstrated this skill in the revival of LA ROUTE D'EMERAUDE.
