Behind the Fragrance
Mimosa Tanneron by Perris Monte Carlo, Eau de Parfum 100 ml
MIMOSA TANNERON transports you to Tanneron, across the moors, on a day of gusty wind and radiant sunlight. The sky gleams over a verdant landscape adorned with slopes covered in mimosas. I returned home with dancing yellow spots before my eyes and a whirl of light within me.
Introduced to Provence in the mid-19th century by a British family who admired its elegance, the mimosa found its home on the French Riviera, where the British nobility frequented during the mild winters. The lady of the house was familiar with the fragrant mimosa from Hyde Park in London. Driven by demand, mimosa flowers were planted in Tanneron, inadvertently establishing it as a hub for mimosa cultivation. Mimosa extract debuted in perfumery in the 1940s and has since become a cherished ingredient in prestigious fragrance compositions. MIMOSA TANNERON pays homage to the tender, sweet and evocative sensations of budding love.
Tanneron, nestled in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France, is renowned for its lush mimosa fields. Situated on a plateau in the Préalpes de Grasse mountain range near the French Riviera, Tanneron is a favored destination, particularly in spring when mimosas adorn the landscape with their vibrant yellow blossoms. The region also boasts picturesque hiking trails and panoramic coastal vistas.
In Tanneron, where the Mistral wind blows so powerfully, the view is dominated by the color yellow. And, as Albert Camus wrote to Maria Casarès, 'the slopes are crumbling under the mimosas'. Their scent, redolent of spring awakening, conveys calm and a strange feeling of omnipotence. All roads are open..." - Perris Monte Carlo
The English were enamored with the silver acacia, imported from Tasmania, so much so that they not only cultivated it domestically but also spread it as far as southern France, where it could withstand the winter. The essential oil, renowned for its calming effects, was initially developed in the 1940s. When Jean-Claude reimagined it, he captured the essence of spring's light-heartedness. The esteemed fragrance composer crafted MIMOSA TANNERON, an ode to tenderness, gentleness and the blossoming of love, evoked by the middle notes of rose and hawthorn.
