Behind the Fragrance

Filippo Sorcinelli MEMENTO ROSA FIORITA Extrait de Parfum

Rosa Fiorita Extrait de Parfum is a fragrance inspired by the deep spirituality and extraordinary story of St Rita of Cascia, the patron saint of hopeless cases. The inspiration for this perfume finds its origins in the sacristy drawers of the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia and draws a direct link to the saint herself, known for her deep suffering and unwavering faith.

The story behind this fragrance tells of a miracle: in January 1457, when Rita was ill in her cloistered cell in Cascia, she asked a relative to bring her a rose from her native Roccaporena. Despite the unlikely circumstances - it was winter and everything was buried under snow - God granted her wish and Rita's relative found a rose that bloomed in the middle of winter. This legend symbolises not only the miraculous and divine intercession, but also the beauty and purity that can emerge even in the hardest of times.

The top note of Rosa Fiorita by Filippo Sorcinelli opens with the opulent Damask rose, whose oil absolute releases an intense, multi-faceted rose fragrance that is enveloped in a sweet, almost nectar-like honey note. This combination perfectly captures the divine love and wonder associated with the blooming rose in winter and adds a rich, deep and sweet floral accent. At the heart of the fragrance, May rose unfolds with its fresh, vibrant yet soft floral splendour, in perfect harmony with the delicate bellflower of lily of the valley.

The iris, known for its powdery and slightly earthy notes, lends the bouquet an additional dimension of sophistication and depth. This floral symphony symbolises the purity and beauty of creation, enriched with the grace and faith of Saint Rita. The base note is characterised by the scent of geranium, which, with its green, slightly rose-like and lemony accents, builds a bridge between the floral heart notes and the earthy reality. Geranium rounds off the perfume with a note that is both earthy and spiritual, reflecting the human and divine nature of St Rita.

Rosa Fiorita is more than just a perfume; it is an ode to hope, love and the inexplicable beauty of faith. It speaks to those who are touched by stories of inspiration and who appreciate the deeper connections between heaven and earth, between the divine and the human. Combining historical depth and olfactory artistry, Rosa Fiorita offers a unique fragrance experience that touches the soul and uplifts the senses.

Not every fragrance is made to please.

Some are made to remember. Some to challenge. Some to reach the soul.

Filippo Sorcinelli creates such perfumes – artistic niche compositions meant not just to be worn, but to be experienced. At scent amor, we present an exclusively curated selection of his creations: unisex fragrances infused with spirituality, emotion, and aesthetic boldness.

These are not perfumes of fashion – they are statements, emotions, expressions. Inspired by sacred art, architecture, music, and existential reflection, Sorcinelli’s creations move between light and shadow, body and spirit.

Each composition is an olfactory artwork, unfolding like a prayer of smoke, resin, and silence – guided by memory, sensuality, and the courage to be different.

Filippo Sorcinelli at scent amor is not a scent for every moment.

It’s a scent for your own.
