This fragrance is inspired by the year in which the basilica of Saint Denis, near Paris, was founded. At this moment, the Gothic style is unmistakable, theatrical and rich in symbolism. The particular lighting of this period makes Filippo reflect on the fact that the Renaissance did not arrive until three centuries later. The bottle itself recalls the ceremony of laying the first stone. 

The Basilica of Saint-Denis, near Paris, is one of the most important Gothic churches in France. It was built in the 12th century. It is considered a masterpiece of the Gothic period. The basilica was the burial place of many French kings and queens and plays an important role in the history of France. / Its architecture and artistic sculptures reflect the splendour and religious beliefs of the period. 

The Opus 1144 fragrance opens with a vibrant top note of lemon, mandarin and jasmine, which is deepened by the balsamic elemi resin. These fresh and floral notes give the fragrance a sparkling and lively character.  In the heart, iris stands out, enveloped by warm benzo and kashmir wood. These components give the fragrance a pleasant balsamic note and a sweet, woody note. The orchid adds floral elegance to the fragrance, while the iris, with its pudgy, earthy note, adds depth.  The base of the fragrance is made up of white moschus, vanilla, sandalwood, ambra and leather. White moschus gives the fragrance a soft and clean note, while vanilla adds a sweet and spicy note. Sandalwood and grey ambra add warmth and sensuality, while leather gives the fragrance a distinctive and masculine note.

All in all, a complex and well-balanced composition that skilfully combines fresh, floral, woody and spicy elements.
