Behind the Fragrance
Cacao Aztèque by Perris Monte Carlo, Eau de Parfum 100 ml
CACAO AZTÈQUE Eau de Parfum draws inspiration from the Aztec discovery and the remarkable properties of the cocoa bean in Central America. Among the first to appreciate cocoa's unique qualities, the Aztecs esteemed it highly. The cacao tree yields fruit with an elongated shape, ripening to a vibrant red hue. Utilizing the cacao beans, the Aztecs crafted a bitter chocolate mass, infusing it with crushed chili pepper and cardamom to concoct a divine elixir dubbed "the food of the gods".
Harnessing cocoa absolute as a rare and precious ingredient, CACAO AZTÈQUE Eau de Parfum evokes a dense, opulent, liqueur-like aroma, undeniably alluring and addictive. Its exotic fragrance invigorates the senses, evoking a plethora of memories with its aromatic allure. CACAO AZTÈQUE invites us on a voyage to the mystical realm of the Aztecs, where cocoa held sacred significance, reserved for royalty in the form of a stimulating, spiced elixir known as xolocolatl, believed to bestow the wisdom and power of the gods.
To reinterpret this Central American magic, we started focusing on the cacao tree and its dark beans, adding spices and rum to create a feeling of earthiness and desert. The liqueur-like and dense scents come together to create a scent that completely captivates us and brings a little of that lost magic to our modern lives." - Perris Monte Carlo
This fragrance pays homage to two visionary figures: Carlos Castaneda, the renowned author who delved into shamanism and indigenous spirituality, and Federico Fellini, the legendary filmmaker acclaimed for his surrealistic masterpieces. Additionally, it nods to Fellini's unrealized cinematic endeavor, "Journey to Tulum".
These cultural touchstones encapsulate the essence of the fragrance, which transcends mere olfactory appeal to tap into profound spiritual and artistic realms, evoking a sense of mystique and creativity.
